Uganda We Rise
Hello, my name is Jordan Sekatawa. I was born in Kampala, Uganda, but moved to the U.S. when I was 16. I love living in the U.S. but my heart has never left Uganda. My goal is to create films that portray the true story of Uganda and Africa as a whole. I will do this through my camera’s eye. I will work to change people’s minds about Africa, by shedding a positive light, a positive message, and a positive view of this amazing land and people.
We are often told the sad story, the pitiful story, of African children suffering without hope. What we have not been told is successful stories of African children rising up to the challenge and paving a way to a brighter tomorrow for themselves and their families.
The documentary I am producing is called “Uganda We Rise.” It will be stories of young Ugandans rising to the occasion, pushing the envelope, gathering resources, and forging their own futures.
It is no longer the time for Ugandans to idly sit by and allow foreign countries to make these changes for us. Please support this film and help us change the narrative of the “pitiful” story, to the one that shows the determination and strength of Uganda. “Uganda We Rise!”
