Uganda- Helping provide lifesaving equipment
Donation protected
Hi! We are a group of 7 Nursing and 3 Physiotherapy University of Salford students who have all spent 4-6 weeks in Fort Portal, Uganda working with the charity Knowledge for Change in a low resource local hospital.
We specifically spent time working on the Paediatric Ward. The ward doesn’t own a Blood Pressure Machine and one of the main goals of this page is to change this! As a blood pressure reading can be an early and serious indicator of several diseases and conditions especially in babies and children.
All of us first hand sadly seen the repercussions of lack of resources such as: syringes, needles, drugs and working vital measures (Blood pressure machines, Oxygen saturation probes, Temperature probes). Not having access to this vital equipment makes it extremely difficult to be able to provide the best care.
Having this amazing opportunity and being able to see the difference in healthcare compared to the UK has made us want to help In anyway we can! Which is why collectively we have created this page so all donations can go to providing thehospital with vital equipment which will save lives.
This Page doesn’t have a set goal. Any donation no matter how much or how little is appreciated and it will all genuinely make a difference to the healthcare patients at the hospital receive
Thankyou!
