Dakota needs our help !

About 1 month ago, Dakota started to cough. Normally I wouldn't dream of needing to fundraise for her because I would do anything necessary to give her the longest most fulfilling life, but given these very uncertain past weeks shes had, we dont know how far we will have to go to get her back to her healthy and perfect self.

It has been an incredibly stressful and painful month to watch her degrade with this illness. We have been to the clinic 7 times in the past 3 weeks, in which she was diagnosed with a severe Pneumonia, and unfortunately had not been responding to 3 different types of treatment plans. This dramatically ended in an emergency 3 day hospitalization in which she needed IV intervention, urgent hydration, and constant oxygen monitoring. She was released from the hospital last Tuesday and was put on a new round of antibiotics as a final attempt to treat this as a viral infection. So far she has been stable, but needs weekly X-rays to monitor the infection. If her condition deteriorates again, she will need to undergo an emergency procedure called a bronchoalveolar lavage, which would mean we start all over again.

The total of her vet care so far has been 6,000$, but we forsee still a few more rounds of x-rays and antibiotics to clear her of the infection if the prognosis keeps improving.

Seeing how important Dakota is to everyone who knows her (even those who just meet her quickly crossing the street) I wanted to share her current struggle.
