Our fraternity house has been a home away from home and a symbol of brotherhood for generations of young men and women (Yes, Chi Pi Sigma is a Co-Ed Criminal Justice Fraternity at San Jose State University since 1984, founded in 1935). Unfortunately, we are now facing an urgent safety issue that threatens the well-being of our members and the future of our beloved house. We need your help to raise $75,000 to upgrade the electrical system in our fraternity house and ensure the safety of our brothers.

The Cause: Our fraternity house has a wiring system that is over 100 years old, which was not designed to handle the current electrical demand of modern appliances and devices. The insulating rubber around the old wiring has deteriorated over time, creating a significant fire hazard. According to Service Detectives, knob and tube wiring contributes to more than 28,000 fatal house fires per year. This crucial upgrade will focus on making the house safer for our members and guests.

The Impact: Addressing this electrical issue is vital not only for the safety of our current members but also for future generations who will benefit from the opportunity to forge lifelong bonds and experience personal growth in a supportive, tight-knit community. Our fraternity has a rich history of community service, leadership development, and academic achievement, which we wish to continue for years to come.
