Hey Y’all! As most of you already know I am a nursing student at ECU and loving every minute! I have such passion for my future career that I am now going to Guatemala for three weeks in furtherance of it. I have been blessed with an acceptance to a summer abroad program for the College of Nursing in May! This trip involves twelve nursing students of whom will be providing nursing care to poverty stricken children in Antigua, Guatemala. We will be putting our newly learned nursing skills to use at the benefit of the children who come to our clinic; these children may range in health. Some of the plights I will be exposed to include: malnourishment, cleft palates, cleft lips, and dehydration. The care we provide ranges from feeding and bathing the children, to helping teach them good hygiene and nutrition. I have had a burning desire to go on a mission trip to help those in need, and I feel like I have been blessed with this opportunity and called to go on this trip! With all the many wonderful things I will get to experience there comes the finances... This trip is going to cost $2,700 plus the flight there, which is why I have created this page. I am not asking for this money for me, but for the children's lives I will be helping when I finally get to Guautemala. The money is used to supply medicines and miscellaneous medical supplies, pay the host family I will be living with, and in-country transportation to and from the clinic, as well as food while I am there. If you feel led to help me raise this money I could not thank you enough, if not, your prayers and support are needed just as much! I can not wait to lend my skills to the betterment of the world this summer! I thank God for this oppurtunity and know it will be possible with your support!
