In June of 2014 Kate went to the doctor with slight lower back pain, after multiple tests the doctors diagnosed her with bladder cancer. As upsetting as that was, we had a long road ahead of us. In July, she went under for her first surgery, TURBT, to have the tumors in her bladder removed. The doctor removed three tumors; later on in October we followed up and were blessed to say there was no regrowth. Ever since then at every follow up check and surgery, there has been a massive amount of regrowth. We continued to fight and not let cancer win, through BCG (biotherapy), surgeries, chemotherapy and treatments overall. During the fight, Kate became pregnant with a beautiful baby boy named, Charles Vincent Paluch. He is a blessing beyond words and a wonderful addition to the small family of Vince, her husband, and her 3 year old little girl, Lily. However during the pregnancy, Kate had to go under, for yet another surgery while having baby Charlie watched from a fetal monitor. Currently, we are now dealing with the next step, a radical cystectomy, which included bladder removal, colon resection, hysterectomy, localized lymphnodes removal, and a urinary diversion (Indiana Pouch). This is a massive surgery and will result in a hospital stay, on top of 10-12 weeks of recovery outside of the hospital. During which Kate will need assistance and Vince will have to take time off of work to help and provide care for Kate and their children. She is still continuing to fight this stressful sickness and will need as much support as she can get.
As awful as it is to deal with this emotionally, cancer treatment bills are far from inexpensive. It would mean so much to us if you could help support Kate and her family during this tough time. Please take a moment of your day to share this and make a donation.
Thank you for all of the continued support and prayers.
