Support Martin’s Fight for Justice

Martin has worked by my side for nearly twenty years. In that time, he’s done more than just show up—he’s built a life of quiet integrity. A devoted father of four, he is a steady provider, a respected member of his church and community, and a man who has paid his taxes and followed the rules every step of the way.

For a number of years now Martin has been on a steady path toward legal immigration status, attending court hearings, meeting with officials, and doing everything asked of him. That progress was abruptly derailed this week. At yesterday's hearing at the San Francisco Immigration Court, under pressure from today’s increasingly hostile climate, a judge denied his motions and threatened imminent deportation.

This is unacceptable. Martin arrived in this country in a very different time, asking for nothing but the opportunity to work. He has done this unfailingly every day, while embodying the values that did, at one time make this country great.

Martin is more than just a model employee. He is a kind, even-tempered, loyal man beloved by everyone who knows him. We are launching this fund to finance his appeal and fight for his right to remain with his family and community. If—despite our efforts—the unthinkable happens, any remaining funds will go directly to his family.
