13 students, one semester, and three films. For their senior thesis project, 13 UF film students work in crews to write, produce and execute three professional-level short films.
Don’t Let Go: Elliot, a broke college student desperate for a car, participates in a local "Last to Remove Your Hand Wins a Car " contest where he is confronted by the very person responsible for his lack of transportation, his ex-best friend Reese.
Castor + Pollux: After losing their thrusters, two best friend astronauts must figure out a way to survive long enough to be rescued in space.
Between the Seasons: A boy desperate to escape Miami must help a newcomer who longs for his home in the nort after accidentally pawning his cherished snow globe.
Known as the class that will most likely take over your life, students go through pre-production, three weeks of production, and finally post-production to make these films fully. Spanning across multiple genres, the films created can appeal to anyone and everyone! We also partner with local Gainesville businesses and UF acting majors to make this a mutually beneficial experience for everyone in our community that is involved.
With these ambitious ideas and equally ambitious students, we need YOUR help to make these films as great as they can possibly be. These funds will go towards securing locations, production design efforts, film festival entries, and fueling all the ins and outs of creating three movies. We will all be using these films for our reels and portfolios when we head out into the film industry and want to make them as amazing as they can be. Anything you can give is incredibly appreciated!
