Hello friends, family, acquaintances and strangers,
You may know my typical South Park style outlook on crowd funding, and for that I apologize because I am now turning to it in a time of need. Current circumstances have put one of the dearest people in my life in a situation to turn to the generous people of the world for help. As you can tell from the title, (I hope she doesn't kill me) Amber's baby making parts are on the fritz. I genuinely HATE to ask for help, and I know that she does as well, but it is the only path to fix the problem in a timely manner. Please read on for the serious part, as this is a legit medical issue, trust me, I won't ask for your help when I start my shell necklace making business.
Amber has been diagnosed with CIN3 Dysplasia, which from what I understand is basically stage 0 cervical cancer. While it is not technically (at this point) invasive cancer, that is the situation that the needed procedure will hopefully prevent.
Her cervix is largely effected in at least 5 areas with abnormal cells, which as I understand need to be removed immediately with a procedure called a cold knife biopsy. This will hopefully remove all of the problem areas, while also detecting if any of the areas have actually developed invasive cancer. The normal path for an older person, or a person who has already had children would be to perform a full hysterectomy to be sure to remove all of the effected areas, in order to prevent the development of invasive cancer. However, she has yet to bear little sweet angel redhead babies, so the doctors are taking this route instead. The surgery must be done as soon as possible, and the hospital will not perform it without half up front. This is where you come in. The surgery normally runs around 10k for people with insurance, however we do not have coverage for this (feel free to send a lecture with your donation), so the self pay discount puts it at $2800 plus surgical fees, anesthesia fees, miscellaneous fees, etc. You know how healthcare works.
This is me putting into words as best as I can, something I don't fully understand. What I do know that she needs help, and I will be the first to do so, but we could definitely use help from friends, family, or just some creepy stranger who wants to donate to possible future child creations. Hell, the highest bidder can even pick the name of the first born (approval on that still pending).
I would like to apologize for any grammatical arrows ;), and for humor, it's my way of dealing with these sorts of things. But on a serious note, anything would be appreciated and would not go unnoticed, even if it is just sharing with your friends. I know everyone is working and doing their best. The surgery cost is fixed, however the fees are a basic estimate. That being said, I can guarantee you that anything donated will be used strictly for these medical fees. If by some crazy feat, more than is needed is received, it will be returned in some way or promptly donated to charity. If that were to happen, I am thinking it should go to an organization that provides the HPV vaccine to those in poverty, but I am open to suggestions on the chance that situation should arise.
Thank you all for taking your time to read this and help get this taken care of as quickly as possible, we are hoping for a surgery date of May 27th. We will update any interested parties along the way. Thank you so much and we love you all. And thank you for making Amber as happy as she is in the campaign photo.
