It has been 14 months since we started this fund-raising effort. The $17K raised in that time, has gone to support us and pay for thousands of dollars in co-payments and other medical expenses.
Due to multiple "setbacks and side effects" Karley is still not able to walk and an extreme fall risk. She depends on Donna, her mom, do do most of the things that most of us take for granted. She is still in the middle of this enormous fight.
Now that a new year has begun, all those costs restart. Karley has at least 3 more months of chemotherapy to go. She has 4 specialists and 3 therapists, and takes 13 different medications. There is a $5,500 out of pocket minimum for these charges. We are starting the year with $94 a month in food stamps and a $505 check monthly for RSDI. That is to cover all the bills and costs of living. We depend on LG (Karley's big brother) to help with all the money he can make, but his free-lance work is unpredictable.
Our friends have pitched in a lot over the months and we will never forget their kindness. We are asking for the help of all of you to make it to the happy conclusion of this long battle with brain cancer.

On Monday 10/24/16 Karley was in her room doing homework when her mother and brother found her screaming, unable to move and having a seizure. Within 12 hours she was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor. She is 22 years old and was only 7 weeks away from graduating from Texas State University when this happened.
This is a family that struggles financially and lives paycheck to paycheck as it is- please donate, please give generously (even if that means $5 for you, we understand and it will help!), please share, and PLEASE keep Karley and her family in your thoughts and prayers while they are suddenly getting thrown into this battle.
She is en route to go to MD Anderson in Houston as soon as this weekend. Initially we hope to at least get the day-to-day finances covered since Karley and her immediate family will not be able to work in the foreseeable future.
