Imagine waking up one day to find your entire life reduced to rubble. This is the reality my family and I now face. My name mahmoud esmail a 20-year-old Palestinian from Gaza—and this is the story of how a single bombing changed everything for us.

My two siblings, who were pursuing medicine, had their dreams crushed when they could no longer attend university. I, too, had to put my education on hold. What used to be days filled with learning and striving for a better future have turned into endless struggles to secure the basics—food, water, and safety.

Today, we are left with nothing. The dreams we worked so hard to build have been shattered, replaced by an overwhelming sense of loss and despair.
