Hi, my name is Ashley, and I’m Dawn’s oldest daughter. On October 5, 2025, my mom was involved in a serious motorcycle accident. She was out enjoying the beautiful weather for one last ride before the cooler temperatures set in when a vehicle unexpectedly pulled out in front of her, leaving her no time to react. She collided with the back quarter panel of the car and sustained multiple severe injuries.

Dawn was rushed to Mercy St. Louis’s trauma unit, where doctors discovered she had broken her femur in three places, her tibia in two places, and her arm. She also suffered a concussion.

She is currently in an inpatient rehabilitation center, working hard every day to relearn basic self-care tasks and regain her strength. She attends physical therapy three hours a day, six days a week, and will be non-weight-bearing for at least 6 to 9 months. The road to recovery will be long and challenging.

Once she completes inpatient rehab, Dawn will continue her recovery at home with the help of home healthcare and outpatient therapy. She’ll also need medical equipment to assist her daily activities and mobility during this time.

While we wait for her work benefits to begin, her medical bills, utilities, and mortgage are quickly adding up. We are asking for help to ease the financial burden so that she can focus on healing.

Unfortunately, insurance will not cover all of these expenses, leaving significant costs that she’ll have to pay out of pocket.

Dawn is the kind of person who’s always the first to lend a hand. She volunteers regularly, both through her work and in her personal time, with several organizations throughout St. Louis and St. Charles County. Now, she’s the one who needs our help.
