Help Leah Heal
Donation protected
I want my sister Leah to be able to watch her granddaughter Lillie grow up. But Leah’s just been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome [MDS] bone-marrow cancer. Leah is only 60 years old. This disease seems especially cruel and ironic because her entire life has been dedicated to healthy living, nutrition and exercise. Leah's always been a workhorse, but now cannot work; she is weak, has lost a lot of weight, and barely has enough oxygen to go up a few stairs. The only possible cure is for her to have a successful bone marrow transfer from a matching donor. I wish to God that I was a match. I pray to God that someone, somewhere, will be.
In the meantime, I am starting this GoFundMe page so that she can get some respite from worry. Stress is one of the worst roadblocks to her (or anyone's) health. She needs to be free from worrying about how to pay her bills when she cannot work. She needs help paying for food, medicine, transportation to doctors' visits, and bills. Her beloved dog Levi is always by her side, and knows that something is amiss. Leah cannot walk him like she's used to doing 2-3 times daily.
Leah has an abundance of love from friends and family, but is a very proud woman. Finally she agreed to let me do this because at this stage she is bereft of options. She lives alone in Oregon. I wish I could be with her daily. I wish I could trade places with her. I wish I could do something other than ask for your help.
Any amount you can contribute is a blessing from you to my sis, and to my family. In the meantime, hug those precious to you close, and love them, truly, madly and deeply.
Love,
Catherine
