Brittany’s Cancer journey

Hi my name is Jaime and on December 17th of 2022 my Daughter in law was diagnosed with Leukemia. I will never ever forget this day as this terrifying news ripped through our family. The heartache for everyone involved especially my son and their 2 beautiful girls. Her Mom and Dad, there’s no heartache worse for a parent then their baby hurting and there’s no way to take the pain away. Next there’s the fear, the unknown, the questions , the why’s? Why her? Why can’t it be me instead? The heartache and fear is always there. Well for Brittany she’s living the heartache and fear and she’s battling her own body on a daily basis. After a long journey of chemotherapy, bone marrow testing and long stays in the hospital away from her babies for 30 days or more we thought Brittany’s journey with Leukemia was coming to a halt for now but her journey took another course and now she will be going through a stem cell transplant. Brittany will be spending 4 weeks in the hospital away from her family. During this time she will be under going chemotherapy and her transplant. She will not be home until her blood counts return to normal. When she is able to go home she won’t be able to work or drive until she is cleared by her doctor. She will need constant help and company to keep her in good spirits. Brittany will have a long journey of recovery as she battles this horrible disease. She will have transfusions of magnesium once to twice a week and she will be without an immune system for a year while taking medication at home. Brittany has currently received a letter that she is being cut off of her medical insurance. Never ever once did her or my son want to ask for help but right now they desperately need help in any way possible. Cancer doesn’t care who it chooses and whether or not you can afford it. Worrying about bills should be the last thing they need to do right now. My Son and Daughter in Law would help anyone out if needed. I’m asking you please help them. Anything helps!
