Corey's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
On February 9th, 2024, Corey was driving home from work. He didn't even make it to the on ramp when a 19 year old boy, who was under the influence of alcohol and driving at extreme speeds, the wrong way, hit Corey at around 9;30pm as he was getting on the i80 East at 5600 S. (Thank you to Utah for your idiotic, completely stupid on ramps!)
He was taken to the ICU at Intermountain health in critical but has since been upgraded to stable. Our prayers to the family that lost a loved one and I thank God every moment that my boy is alive. He is in pain with a broken shoulder and a fracture on each side of his pelvis. He is scared and sad, but he's alive!

Today, I am thankful for my family, my son's life, and a red Kia K5!
Corey is and will be at Intermountain Medical Center for the foreseeable future, but he is doing well. He actually was on his feet (for a couple of seconds) yesterday during physical therapy. Insane since he has multiple fractures in his pelvis. Yesterday, I was able to see that Kia K5 and how it held up, saving Corey's life. I got to empty it out and get his phone as well. He is so happy to be in communication again! I did get to examine the Infiniti as well. It's amazing what extreme speed, driving under the influence of alcohol, and wrong way driving will do to a vehicle. Heart breaking Our prayers to the family.

Corey will now be out of work for months. He is an amazing, resilient kid, but hospital bills, rehab facilities, and lost work are going to be extremely difficult. I am setting up a gofundme page so that anyone who knows our family, and would like to help with medical expenses may do so with much appreciation from myself and our family. On a final note, please, please, please talk to your kids about drinking and driving. A 19 year old boy lost his life due to a very bad decision. His older brother and Corey could have died. Is a drink really worth all of that? Get an Uber or a designated driver. Life is so precious. Don't take it for granted.
