October 27th, riding my motorcycle to church in full gear, I had an SUV illegally turn across Lindbergh four-lane highway in front of the Sunset Hills PD. Actual damage was fractured jaw, fractured shoulder blade, pelvis fractured and broke in different spots, broken femur, torn brachial plexus nerve, and brain injury. The police picked me up and got me to the hospital in 30 minutes, thankfully. The ICU delayed any surgery on my fractured and broken pelvis and broken femur for two weeks because the brain swelling issue was bad enough that it had a high likelihood of being a waste if I went any further. The ICU doctors gave me a one in five chance of being able to live by myself again, and it was unknown if I would ever be myself again. I spent 22 days in a coma, then finally woke up. It took about a week longer for the medication to start wearing off and let me actually remember what was happening. I spent another month in long-term care until I had healed enough to actually eat my own food. This was still rough because I could not move my right arm and had difficulty moving my right leg. I moved from long-term care to Shirley Ryan in Chicago for rehab. About a week in, they let me start walking my room on my own. I have since returned home and am mostly just waiting on the nerve transplant from Dr. Ray to finally be done with the situation; then it will just be rehab. Thankfully, I am very close to recovery, but I am over one million dollars into insurance. Insurance should pay the main parts, but I would like some help recovering from the situation after the nerve surgery. That is why I am making this post. Thank you to anyone who can help out.
