When you least expect it, life can take a turn for the worst, leaving one helpless.

A week after a botched perforated gallbladder removal, where they stitched my bowel to a hernia, blocking my intestines from functioning, I found myself awakening from being incubated for two days, recovering from corrective surgery to drain and remove the bile, sepsis, and poisons, from my intestines, liver, and lungs that became infected.

This last month has been (and still is) a lengthy recovery, as my weight dropped from 155 to 128 lbs, and I contracted double pneumonia. Weak, dehydrated, lethargic, I'm pretty much bedridden, moving slow, while my liver learns to process without the gallbladder. Now there are additional concerns that my prostate cancer may have further been affected.

Unable to continue working, the normal living expenses, along with the medical co-pays and prescriptions, have caused a financial burden that, without help, I'll never be able to meet.

It's embarrassing to be in a position where I have to plead for charity, as I've always been able to take care of myself and my kids; but here I am, forced to rely on the kindness and generosity of my friends to help me survive this, and get back to a normal healthy state of body and mind.
