Linda was a fit and active member of the gym, regularly attending the PT classes 3 times a week. She encouraged those around her, and even bullied her husband into joining as well. Previously, she completed the Great South Run, several times, raising money for those less fortunate than herself.
Nothing pleased her more, than planning and organising the next holiday; over the past 14 years that she and her husband were together, they visited 25 countries, several of them, more than once. Only in January of this year, Linda and her husband were in the Dominican Republic celebrating her sister’s 60th birthday. On returning home, she felt lethargic and motivation was waning. On 8th February, her husband took her into QA hospital, where she suffered a seizure and was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. After two weeks, she returned home, where her husband cared for her 24 hours a day. This once, fit active vibrant lady, passed away on the 2nd April, at 58 years of age, pain free, in the comfort of her home, in her husbands arms. It was only at the beginning of this year, that she was talking of retiring, but sadly never had that chance.
We are holding a charity PT class and Bake sale, in her name, and her husband Duncan, would like all proceeds to go to the Rowan’s Hospice.
