Hi there! We are fundraising for a Tobii Eyegaze communication equipment for our Nephew Anthony Bowley. Anthony is 29 years old. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) on his 21st Birthday. He has now been confined to bed for the last year, due to this debilitating disease and needs round the clock care.  Anthony is unable to move any part of his body independently. He is reliant on a  CPAP machine to help with his breathing, as his chest muscles cannot function adequately on their own.  This is starting to affect Anthony`s ability to speak.  His greatest fear is being unable to communicate. He is unable to use a keyboard, which means speech is his only method of communication. With the Eyegaze, Anthony would be able to speak if his voice goes completely, use his computer and tv. Make phone calls and skype his friends and family, with a synthesized voice, (think Stephen Hawking).  It will give Anthony more privacy, dignity and independence. Anthony is unfailingly pleasant and good humoured about his plight and maintains a positive outlook.
