Hello, my name is Brittany Worrell and I am fundraising for my sweet 7 year old cousin Mateo López.

 

In October of 2021, the López family received devastating news that no one wishes to hear… your son has cancer. Their lives were forever changed. Mateo was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and immediately began aggressive treatment. Our sweet, fun loving Mateo is now on this journey to beat childhood cancer and we ask that you join alongside us on his journey. During this whirlwind, one thing has remained constant- the sweet smile that can always be found on Mateo’s face. His smile and love for life is truly contagious!! ALL is a type of cancer that involves both the blood and bone marrow. It is an extremely aggressive form of cancer, meaning it moves and progresses very quickly. Since his diagnosis in October, he has undergone multiple procedures including a port placement, multiple intrathecal (spinal) chemotherapy infusions, bone marrow biopsies, and aggressive chemotherapy treatment. Mateo is receiving his treatment at Monroe Carnell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. I will continue to update this page along Mateo’s journey against ALL.
