My sister, Judy Karr, and her husband, Hank are two of the most selfless and caring people I know. They have both dedicated their lives to the service of others...Judy as a nurse and Hank as a police officer. They each give even more of their time helping others with part-time jobs on the weekends- Judy providing home care to patients and Hank providing security for a local temple. They fiercely love their family and friends and each would do just about anything or anybody in need. Well now, they really our help!
On Tuesday, November 17th, Hank was shot in the line of duty by a fugitive who was wanted for shooting and killing the mother of his children while she was holding their 5 year old son. Hank lost a kidney, has broken ribs and has suffered multiple other internal injuries. He is in critical, but stable condition now, and was finally able to come off the ventilator this morning. He has a very long road ahead of him. He will likely need more surgery in the future and it may realistically be about 9 months to a year of hard work to get back to his former self.
I am hoping this go-fund-me can help ease the burden of all the financial issues that come along with this type of recovery.
Thank you to everyone for all the prayers and messages of concern! Please keep them coming! The prayers are working!!!
