ENGLISH
Santiago Soto Charry was born in Cali on March 4, 1968, he was a very affectionate and intelligent young man, but unfortunately, he was diagnosed with schizophrenia at 14. From that moment, his life and that of his family had many force majeure changes, his life was not easy at all, and he ended up being hospitalized for life in a psychiatric hospital. His family emigrated to the United States, and Santiago was interned there and had no further contact with the outside world except contact with his closest family. Unfortunately, the last three years of his life were even more difficult due to stage 4 colorectal cancer that later metastasized to the liver and had no cure. His last months were excruciating due to his illness which led him to spend them in a hospice. For the family, it is a moment of deep sadness when the community is being asked for help to collaborate with the burial costs, which, although they are the simplest, are a high cost that they cannot afford. Santiago never asked for anything, but he only wanted to be buried next to his mother. Despite his illness, he was patient and humble and stood out for having clear reasoning. Music was his greatest passion and his relief in the most challenging moments. We thank you for your collaboration, we thank you for your generosity, and for feeling the soul of Santiago, who I have no doubt that wherever he is, will feel very touched by your gesture, and he is also thanking you from the bottom of my heart.
