Giving something back
Donation protected
Hi I'm Alan Fairbairn and welcome to my fundraising page. I'm a coach for Duns Jnr Football Club which I've been part of for the last 3 1/2 years looking after the 2007/08 team alongside fellow coach Grant Keenan. In January 2012 I was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the age of 36 which came as a bit of a shock to say the least!!
But one thing that has given me great sense of reward and pride outside of being a father and dealing with the condition is seeing the kids we coach grow and develop as player's . So as a thank you I'd like to give something back by raising funds for equipment to help improve the training for all the age groups involved at Duns Jnrs.
Don't think for a minute that I'm not gonna do my part in helping hit the target. On the 12th of May this year I will be taking part in the Rust 2 Rome ( Austrian Alps) adventure something that i took part in last year doing the Swiss Alps route. To up the challenge for this years trip I shall be driving the entire route there and back solo unlike last year where I shared the driving . Definitely a challenge in it's self never mind attempting to take a car costing no more than £500 all the way to Rome and back but also having Parkinson's as an extra cherry on top !!
If you would like to follow the preparations and the actual adventure head over to my Facebook page " The Man from Parkie Returns to Rome"
Thanks and please donate
