Help My Mom Battle Cancer
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Tamara and I am setting this account up for my mom Lyudmila to help my family financially during this time of hardship. Thank you for taking the time to read her story. In December 2022 my mom was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). She went through intensive chemotherapy in the hospital for the month of January and subsequently, for 5 days every month, three months thereafter for consolidation treatment. She is currently going to the hospital every other day to have her vitals checked and get blood transfusions as her blood cells are being destroyed with chemotherapy. With the diagnosis of AML, the only treatment is a bone marrow transplant to achieve remission. With God's help, prayers, and a stranger's selfless act, a volunteer donor was found to be her match for a bone marrow transplant! She is scheduled to have her transplant at the beginning of July. She will be hospitalized for about a month during this process. Recovery is up to a year with the first 100 days being the most challenging as the body adjusts to the new blood. This journey has been a very difficult time for my mom. She currently lives with her husband Nikolay and this month of June marks their 30th wedding anniversary, my sister Evelina who is 15, and my brother Tovit who is 14. Ever since my mom was diagnosed, my dad took over as the caregiver for her and quit his job to take care of her. She has to be driven to and from appointments every other day and have someone take care of the household chores and cooking meals as she is too weak to fully function without getting exhausted. The diagnosis, chemotherapy treatments, and change of normal daily life have been challenging to overcome and have taken a toll physically, emotionally, and mentally. With the bone marrow transplant coming up, it is a requirement by the hospital for my mom to have a full-time caregiver during her recovery and someone to be available at all times. With my dad being the primary caregiver for my mom it has been difficult to keep up with finances. They are currently in a situation where they have to move houses as their current landlord sold the house they are renting in. With the transplant date being just around the corner, they have to find a new living space as soon as possible. The funds will be used to help them with the move and monthly expenses for the rest of the year while my mom is in recovery so that my dad is able to be her full-time caregiver. Although this has been a tough journey we are faithful that God is on our side and are putting everything in God's hands. Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help. If you have the desire to help our family during this time of hardship, we will be very thankful for your act of kindness. We ask that you keep my mom and family in your prayers and may God bless each one of you one thousandfold more! Each donation made on GoFundme has a transaction fee. If you would like 100% of your donation to go to this cause, you can donate through Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle.
