Help Dayzsa Fight for Her Life and Support Her Daughter

Our beloved friend, sister, and mother, Dayzsa, is in the fight of her life.

A retroperitoneal mass has grown deep inside her body, encasing her major arteries, nerves, veins, and vessels. Because of its dangerous location, no medical team—including specialists at UW Cancer Care—has been able to perform a biopsy. This means doctors cannot yet treat the mass, making her situation extremely complex and frightening.

In the past months, Dayzsa has been admitted to the hospital four times, with numerous additional ER visits. The mass has already caused acute kidney failure, leading to bilateral nephrostomy bags, a round of dialysis, and a blood transfusion. It has also placed serious stress on her heart. She struggles with mobility and relies on a walker whenever she leaves home.

Through it all, Dayzsa remains strong—but she has been unable to work for over a month, with no clear return date in sight.

What weighs most heavily on her heart is her role as a mom to her 9-year-old daughter. Her greatest fear is not only what may happen to her health, but also the impact on her daughter—especially the possibility of losing their childhood home if she passes. The mortgage is $2,000/month, with $163,000 still owed.
