Hi, I'm Hannah. I am receiving bottom surgery (vaginoplasty) on April 14, 2025. As part of this surgery, electrolysis/laser hair removal is required for surgery. This costs (for me at least) $160/hour of electrolysis. So far, I have done 14 hours of electrolysis and have another 6 hours scheduled for the month of March with more possibly needed. Technically, hair removal is covered, but it is all out of network and my deductible is $7000. In addition, if I experience complications during surgery, I may have to be moved to a "Skilled Nursing Facility" for more intensive care during recovery. The nursing facilities my provider uses are also out of network.
