Over the last two years, I have been very ill off and on with upper respiratory infections and chronic tonsillitis, which eventually led to a necessary tonsillectomy. I became very sick right before the procedure and needed extra time off work to recover. Between that and the surgery itself, the medical and hospital costs ended up being more than I anticipated.
