UCSB Men's Club Soccer is Going to Nationals!

UCSB Men's Club Soccer is heading to Nationals!

But before we talk about our trip to Alabama for a shot at a national title, you have to understand how we got here.

You couldn't write the script that played out the past weekend at the annual NIRSA Regional Tournament in San Luis Obispo, CA.

After battling through the group stage with two wins and a tie, your Gaucho's went head to head in the Regional Semi-Finals versus their hated rivals- the Cal Poly Mustangs. Everything was at stake, as the winner of this game automatically would receive a bid to the National Tournament.

The Gaucho's were all tied up 2-2 with the Mustangs heading into golden goal overtime. That was, until Junior Center Midfielder Theo Hughes stepped up and fired home a perfect free kick from 25 yards out. (You had to see it to believe it- so luckily, we've got it filmed for you here ). The Gaucho's triumphed over their rivals, and as a result, received an automatic bid for the National Tournament.

So what does this mean? The tournament runs from November 18th - November 20th in Foley, Alabama, and to get there, we need your help.

As a club sport, making the long and expensive trek to a place like Alabama is financially taxing on many of the players. Your donation to the club would help the team pay for flights, housing, and transportation to and from the tournament.

We greatly appreciate any support you may be able to give, and any contribution helps us fulfill our dream of bringing home a National Championship to our club.
