This is a fundraiser to help finance the UCLA Undergraduate Director Emily Chung’s Thesis Film! This film follows the story of two ex lovers being forced to confront their abandoned relationship on a publicity tour as one interviews the other about their success in the film industry. Synopsis is as follows:
Five years ago, at the end of their college senior year, aspiring actor, Wes, breaks up with aspiring novelist, Charlie. Despite they both loved and cared deeply about each other, they bring out and amplify each other’s worst insecurities. For Wes, it is his fear of his queer identity and the existence of his relationship with Charlie forces him to confront a part that he tries so deeply to hide. For Charlie, it is the fear of rejection. He refuses to show the world his writing and hinders his own artistic pursuit as he is afraid of being vulnerable.
In present day, the two of them meet again for the first time since their break up. Charlie gets called to cover a last minute press tour on Wes’s newest movie. Wes has now made it as a big shot actor and Charlie is a low profile reporter who hates his job. In this interview, Charlie is desperate to know whether Wes ever truly loved him and Wes tries to convey that he did but circumstances were out of their control, without the surrounding agent or camera crew finding out about their past.
