Help bring Pat home

Hi, I'm Laura Acree, Pat's sister. It has become my responsibility to bring him home, and I need a little help doing so. I love my brother very much. He may have been a jerk sometimes, but he was still my brother. He had lived in the La Verne / San Dimas area for over 45 years. He knew and had a lot of friends, so I'm hoping his friends will now help me bring him home.

I found out yesterday that the last 3 weeks he was living in a sober living home and going to AA meetings 3 times a day. His sponsor said he was really trying. That's just heartbreaking to me because he was finally tired of the lifestyle he was living and was ready to change, and then he died. I'm proud of you, Pat.

He died a little past 11 pm on Friday night. When they took him off the machines, he lived 42 minutes, then passed away. I decided to donate any organs that were good enough to use. They took his heart and pancreas for research and his 2 kidneys, which had already been given to two people.
