Recommended donations for faculty:
Consider using the sliding scale of professional organizations that you pay for annual membership.
For example the MLA (Modern Language Association) figures are: $50-70K annual income = $126 membership; $70-$100K = $168; $100-$140K = $210; $140-$180K = $263; $180K+ = $316
$1,000.00 will pay for 1 month's rent for a student who has lost their job, $200 will help a student pay bills, $50 will help by groceries for someone without work
