Help Lisa get the Medical Care she needs!

Earlier this year, Lisa was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center.
Last fall, Lisa began to develop a myriad of symptoms that she brushed off. She had persistent shoulder pain and weight loss that she attributed to over-exercise and the start of graduate school. Her symptoms worsened over the next few months until one day she had severe shortness of breath and an elevated heart rate. In Urgent Care, they diagnosed her with pneumonia and sent her home on antibiotics. A few days later, Lisa began to cough up blood.
We went to the ER and that was when we were told that her “pneumonia” was actually a malignant lung mass, measuring 11.8 x 5.3cm! After weeks of waiting and two biopsies later, Lisa was officially diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. We are currently enrolled in a clinical trial, where we are investigating the benefits of immunotherapy against the gold standard treatment plan of chemotherapy alone. Treatment days are typically six to
eight hours long and consist of labs/bloodwork, doctor visits, and then infusions. We are currently going to Fred Hutch every 1-2 weeks with an expected duration of at least six months. After completing one month/cycle, Lisa has shown some improvement in her symptoms.
We are hopeful that Lisa continues this trajectory. When we found out it was cancer, we both put our lives on pause. There is a lot of uncertainty in the unknowns of cancer but we remain confident that Lisa will overcome this.
We decided to make this GoFundMe in hopes to help shoulder some of the financial burden while Lisa is taking a leave from work, particularly to help cover medical expenses. We appreciate your support, thoughts, and prayers during this time.
