We are reaching out to urgently seek support for our dear friend, Stacy, and her sweet 5-year-old child. A month after her son was born, Stacy was diagnosed with an extremely rare disease with a host of complicated and devastating effects. Although little understood, it was thought to be potentially linked to toxic mold - and, upon testing their home, huge amounts of black mold were found in the air ducts. Soon after, Stacy simultaneously moved out of her home to save her child and herself, and she became a single mother. Despite subsequent unrelenting health challenges, Stacy continued to be the incredibly strong, compassionate, unwavering spirit she has always been. However, in a terrible turn of fate, she and her child were then exposed to toxic mold again - both became ill and Stacy was additionally diagnosed with a degenerative neurological disease. The exposures were so intense that now even the smallest amounts of mold makes them sick, and the resulting inflammatory process quickly progresses Stacy’s disease. They have subsequently lived in a dozen different places (including a tent for a month) trying to find one to which they don’t react. During this time, Stacy has unwaveringly focused on being a devoted mother and has had no choice but to continue to work to support her family. They have had to get rid of all their belongings and start over multiple times - and each time, in typical Stacy fashion, she talked about it as an opportunity to learn and grow so she can better help others.
If you are lucky enough to have met Stacy, you know she is the most selfless and loving soul. In fact, if you were in a room full of her friends - and even acquaintances - every one of them could share a time when she completely carried them through a hardship. She always has so much to give no matter whether you have known her for a minute or a lifetime, and no matter how much she is dealing with herself. Stacy is an extraordinary person and to see her persevere with such courage is simultaneously inspiring and heartbreaking.
I truly don’t know how she finds so much room in her heart - and now we are reaching out to humbly ask if you have room in yours to help create a space where Stacy and her beautiful child can finally focus on healing. She needs so much to start over and her medical expenses will continue to be high. We are trying to raise enough money to build a custom mold/chemical-free container home. An Angel has offered to match $20,000 in donations. Stacy has not had much experience receiving....but we are trying to teach her what it feels like to be on this side of all the love she always offers so freely. Your support means so much - words cannot possibly express our gratitude and appreciation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to yours.
