Muy cordialmente nos dirijimos a ustedes en la oportunidad de saludarlos y solicitar su valioso apoyo a la delegación de la Universidad Católica Andrés Bello que representará a Venezuela en la sexagésima sexta edición del Harvard National Model of United Nations 2020 (HNMUN). En esta prestigiosa competencia internacional, más de 3,000 estudiantes pertenecientes a más de 40 universidades del mundo representarán a embajadores de los 193 países de la Organización de Naciones Unidas, desarrollando la simulación de una negociación diplomática, discutiendo los problemas y situaciones que afectan actualmente a la comunidad internacional. Dicha competencia se celebrará del 13 al 16 de febrero de 2020 en la ciudad de Boston, Massachusetts, EEUU.
Este año confiamos en la capacidad y preparación de nuestro equipo de 19 estudiantes que, como en oportunidades anteriores, está conformado por un grupo que fue sometido a una rigurosa selección basada en criterios de rendimiento académico, suficiencia en el idioma inglés y actividades extra-curriculares. Durante el año se llevarán a cabo reuniones semanales que buscarán desarrollar las habilidades necesarias para un desempeño excelente en el Modelo, incluyendo oratoria, negociación e investigación.
Cabe destacar que, gracias a la preparación constante y disciplinada de nuestros jóvenes, la delegación UCABISTA que ha participado en HNMUN por los últimos 24 años ha logrado alcanzar 199 premios individuales y se ha catalogado como la universidad venezolana con más premios en el certamen, incluyendo Mejor Delegación Internacional en los años 2002, 2008, 2013 y 2017 y hasta ahora, la única delegación internacional en ganar el premio de Mejor Delegación de la Competencia en el año 2002 y en el 2017.
Como equipo, la Delegación se encarga de recaudar los fondos necesarios para llegar a la Conferencia. Nuestro principio fundamental es que la naturaleza de la competencia requiere de los esfuerzos de todos los delegados para llegar a ella, y por este motivo nos esforzamos para buscar el apoyo de personas comprometidas con la excelencia y la formación de las futuras generaciones. Por este motivo sería un honor contar con su apoyo.
Para dar contexto del a ayuda que requerimos, el presupuesto individual de cada delegado está conformado por lo siguiente:
1. $95 USD para la inscripción en HNMUN, que debemos pagar hasta octubre;
2. $558 USD para la estadía en Boston, que debemos pagar hasta mediados de diciembre; y
3. $800 USD aproximadamente para el pasaje de avión.

We cordially address you to say hello and ask for your valuable support to the delegation of the Andres Bello Catholic University (UCAB) who will represent Venezuela in the sixty-sixth session of Harvard National Model United Nations (HNMUN). Being the most prestigious competition of its kind, more than 3,000 students from more than 40 universities around the world will represent ambassadors of the 193 countries in the United Nations. For four days we will carry out a lively debate, discussing political, economic and social issues and negotiating to draw up official documents for solving problems that affect our international community today. Said competition will be held on 13-16 of February 2020, in the city of Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.
This year we rely on the capacity and preparedness of our team of 19 students, that as on previous occasions, is made up of a group that was subjected to a rigorous selection process based on the criteria of academic achievement, proficiency in the English language and extra-curricular activities. During a ten-month period, the group will meet every Sunday to develop the necessary abilities for excellent performance in the model, including public speaking, negotiation and researching skills.
Remarkably, thanks to our constant and disciplined preparation, the UCAB-HNMUN delegation has participated in this competition for the past 24 years, receiving 199 individual awards, being listed as the Venezuelan university with the most prizes in this competition including Best International Delegation in 2002, 2008, 2013 and 2017, and so far the only international delegation to win the award for Best Delegation in 2002 and 2017.
As a team, the Delegation is responsible for raising the funds needed to make it to the Conference. Our fundamental principle is that the efforts of all delegates are required to make it to the competition, and for this reason, we strive to seek support from people who are committed to the excellence and training of future generations. Therefore, we would be honored to have your support.
To give the context of the help that we need, the individual budget of each delegate consists of the following:
1. $95 for the registration to HNMUN, which must be paid by October;
2. $558 USD for the Hotel fees in Boston, which must be paid by mid-December; and
3. Approximately $800 USD for the airline tickets.
