Braden's Van
Donation protected
It's Saturday morning and you need to go grocery shopping, but it's raining. No big deal, right? You make a mad dash for the car and off you go. That isn't the case for everyone though. Something what seems so quick and easy can actually be very complicated.
Let me explain: My name is Cindy and my daughter Tricia has a stepson named Braden. He has what's called spastic cerebral palsy. He was born at 27 weeks and received extensive brain damage leaving him a victim of his own lifeless body. He has to be cared for in every way.
Tricia and Braden's dad- Bryan have 2 small cars. Bryan's car is 16 years old and isn't running well. They have to drive separately to the store just to put groceries in one car and the wheelchair in the other. They have to set the wheelchair up and break it down every time they go someplace. Imagine doing this in the rain.
Bryan has worked full time for the military for 6 years but 3 months ago due to budget cuts he lost his job. Tricia served in the military for 6 years, deploying to Iraq, leaving her own two children behind so she could serve this country.
Prior to losing his job Bryan and Tricia had been saving money to buy a handicapped van but they are now having to live off of that money until Bryan can find work again.
Braden is growing quickly, weighing nearly 70 pounds. He is very heavy and stiff and he cannot hold his head up by himself. He is currently sitting in a car seat that he has almost outgrown. The safest thing for Braden would be for him to ride in his own wheelchair.
I am reaching out to the community because this family deserves and needs our help. This is an opportunity to give back to a family who has given so much. A family in need thanks you all. Join with me in this endeavor please and let's get them a van.
