My name is Alexander Spence and I've been Lorne Chaitov's friend and coworker all over the world for the last six years.  We've been Tech Team buddies on the show Amazing Race Canada in over a dozen countries through the best of times and the worst of times. He, his wife Chloe, and their beautiful pup Lulu are truly wonderful people. Lorne has been going through a very tough time dealing with serious health concerns for his immediate family as a primary care-giver and this has prevented him from joining us on season six of our show. This GoFundMe was put together with donations from every department on the show as a way to support our friend in a time he could use the help, and to show him how much he is valued by his friends.

How the funds will be used (be specific as possible):
The funds will be used for several purposes. First, they are to help Lorne make up for the shortfall of income due to him having to take care of his family instead of working with us for 6 weeks. This will allow him some room to breathe and focus on what's most important in his life. These funds will be used for the same purposes his income would normally be; to help pay for his food and rent for his family. Secondly, they will be used to help him cover his expenses incurred by being a primary caregiver - constant costs for driving and parking at various hospitals and specialists, providing for medical costs for his Father, and whatever he needs to help his family.

Lorne Chaitov's name and connection to the campaign:
Lorne Chaitov is a kind and generous man who would never ask for this campaign - instead, it's being forced upon him by his coworkers and friends. Lorne works on the show The Amazing Race Canada as a Technical Supervisor and has done so for many previous seasons. This show employs almost a hundred people and every one of them has had a chance to meet and appreciate Lorne for everything he brings to the production. His patience, understanding, and persistent optimism in the face of trying times are things we value highly, and those traits are surely doing him well in his current situation. On the show we work together for almost 10 weeks of day-in-day-out effort and it represents a large portion of our annual incomes; to plan to make that income then suddenly not be able to have it represents a great difficulty for anyone.  That's the situation Lorne is in now.

With very little warning his Father's health has taken a turn for the worse and Lorne chose to stay and care for him instead of working on the show. This campaign is intended to help him make up the difference and allow us, his friends and coworkers, to do whatever we can to help him out.
