On October 18th, Gopi passed away peacefully in his sleep. He leaves behind his 20-year old son, Sam, who has been caring for him over the last two years after Gopi suffered a debilitating heart attack and stroke. Gopi's last wishes were to be cremated and to have his ashes spread at the Ganges River in India like he did for his mother when she passed.
We are making this page with the hope that in lieu of sending flowers or other things, people can make a contribution toward Gopi's memorial expenses as well as the cost of Sam traveling to India to spread his father's ashes.

Gopi lived each day as a force to be reckoned with. He laughed like a king, cried like a baby, loved like a Romeo and worked like a dog. As you all know, cooking and movies were his two true loves. He cherished feeding people and talking cinema. His place was always an open house where anyone could walk in, have a meal, crash, drink and feel at home. Gopi was never shy about sharing his opinion - whether it was movies, politics or life. He pushed all of us to be our very best and he did all he could to help each of us succeed. He will be greatly missed, but his impact on our lives will continue to be felt for all our days to come.
