Alexander's Tumour Surgery costs
Donation protected
Alexander was diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2012, when he was 14. The tumour is located in the motor cortex and at the time of diagnosis was considered inoperable, and so other treatment avenues were followed.
In the three years since, Alexander’s condition has not improved, and of late has deteriorated significantly, so much so that Trudi, Greg and Alexander have sought alternative treatment options. Consequently, they met with Dr Teo in Sydney, two weeks ago. Dr Teo has said that he can perform an operation that will remove the Alexander’s tumour. As with any surgery there are risks, but Alexander and his parents are willing to accept these and go forward with the operation. At this stage they are hopeful that the surgery will be scheduled for the end of June.
However, the cost for this surgery and the rehabilitation that will follow are beyond what the Harris family can afford. The surgery alone is in excess of $40,000, therefore, every dollar helps.
Thanking you
