Did you know that most girls in rural areas of Zambia don’t have access to sanitary menstrual products? This means girls rely on unhygienic or inconvenient practices to manage menstruation. Often, girls will miss one week of school a month because of their period - leading to higher dropout rates across teenage girls compared to boys.
Our mission is to alleviate menstrual poverty in Chipangali and beyond by providing eco-friendly menstrual cups and education to girls and women. Rooted in Ubuntu - the belief that ‘I am because we are’ - we work together to restore dignity, improve health, and unlock brighter futures for Zambia’s women and girls.
We are working in collaboration with Donna Song of Natari to ship 500 menstrual cups and discs to the Mphawa Rural health post Health Post in Chipangali, Zambia. Here, the products will directly benefit the rural schoolgirls of the area to combat menstrual poverty.
Raising $4,000 covers the costs of production, shipping and distribution of these 500 cups in Chipangali.
