Back in October my brother from another mother Abram was on his E-bike and hit a curb going full spend and was launched into the air and his brutal landing resulted in a broken neck. He underwent surgery immediately and has been in the hospital since. He had no mobility in any of his extremities for months. As of yesterday he was given clearance to be discharged from the hospital. I have not been able to get a clear picture of his current physical condition, only that he is being discharged with a 3 in 1 care chair, a walker and a wheelchair. His Medicaid has gone through from what I understand however his Social Security is pending supposedly. I plan to get on top of that ASAP as well as any other government aid he qualifies for. They told me last night that he had to leave since he was cleared and that if he stayed it would be $3500 per day charged to him so I said I would take him in and help with his journey to recovery. They are transporting him as I type this. There are a lot of unknowns, medical care, copays, time needed to care for him. Joey and I live paycheck to paycheck. It takes a village and we stepped up to take him in and I’m sure it’s not going to be easy. We ask that our “village” help us with expenses each month as well as any knowledge you may have that will help expedite his social security.
