My name is Kasey, and I’m fundraising to get my car back from repossession — it costs $5,500 to recover it. For me and my boyfriend, this car isn’t just transportation — it’s our home, our safety, and our only stability right now.

I’m a survivor of sex trafficking, prostitution, addiction, and domestic violence. I’ve fought hard to rebuild my life after every setback, but the road hasn’t been easy. Since I was 18, I’ve been in and out of homelessness, constantly trying to find a safe place to rest, recover, and start over.

Recently, I finally found hope again when I was able to get into a shelter. But before I could get fully back on my feet, my car was repossessed. Losing it felt like losing everything all over again — my security, my job opportunities, and my sense of freedom.

The truth is, the economy makes it nearly impossible to escape poverty right now. Shelters are full, housing waitlists are closed, and every day on the streets is a fight just to survive. My car was the one thing keeping me safe — a small space where I could breathe, think, and plan for a better tomorrow.

If I can raise the $5,500 to get my car back, it would mean having my home again. It would give me and my boyfriend a fighting chance to stay warm, safe, and mobile while we keep working toward something better.
