Please help! Cassie, a school teacher, needs a Kidney transplant and also has uterine cancer.
Hi, my name is Kristen and I'm raising money for my cousin Cassandra Conley. Cassandra (Cassie) has been devoted to children all of her life. From traveling with various families to watch over their young children, to baby-sitting, to fostering children. Cassie finally adopted a baby that was born at 27 weeks, weighing only 1 lb 13 oz. For weeks she drove to another Kansas town to visit and care for her new infant child in the NICU at the hospital. She kept a blog from foster care to adoption. Some of you followed her. She and her sweet daughter are extremely close, since it is just the two of them, and they are quite a bit alike.
Today Cassie teaches theatre arts in a small town in Kansas. Her health will not only impact her precious child but also her teaching, theatre work and her life itself.
Cassie (age 45) was diagnosed, in Feb. 2022, with Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease causing genetic fibrous tissue to force the kidneys into failure. Her ADPKD appears to be spontaneous instead of genetic. Her Nephrologist told her, at a recent appointment, it was time to get on the transplant list. Dialysis is also something she will possibly need until a donor can be found. On top of that she was recently diagnosed with stage 1 uterine cancer. She remains optimistic as they caught the cancer early and may possibly be placed on the kidney transplant list. However, both will create time off and loss of income as well as out-of-pocket expenses.
Josephine (her daughter, age 8) is her first concern. However, she knows finances must be considered. Hysterectomy, dialysis, transplant, kidney failure and loss of work hours will hurt her considerably. Your support and prayers are strongly appreciated.
“Thank You” does not even touch the immense amount of appreciation we feel for your kindness, support, and prayers. Thank you!
