Please help this amazing family

Hi, my name is Tracie. I have started this go fund me on behalf of Jeremy’s family! Jeremy was born with hydrocephalus. He has had seizures that have been so severe that CPR had to be administered. Jeremy ‘s parents, Jessica, and Nathan, We’re approach by the neurologist in April to have the vagus nerve stimulation done. This would help reduce or stop the seizures. After a long and conscious consideration, they chose the testing to see if he would be a candidate on Monday July 24, 2023,Jeremy went in for a three day hospital stay to see if he would be a candidate for the VNS.Jeramy‘s seizure medication was reduced so that he could have a seizure to become a candidate for this. However, after three days he wasn’t having any seizures which was weird they decided to stop all seizure medication and keep him there till Friday, upon stopping all medication he ended up having two major seizures back to back that he would not wake or respond. Rescue meds and other techniques were being used and he would not respond. They were not sure if he was going to survive and they may lose him. Jeremy did finally wake a day later. However, he did not bounce back like in the past from having them. He was able to go home however the family is not sure if there is permanent damage.

From his mom: “Jeremy is in good spirits and very happy to be home with his Dog and cat. Both animals haven’t left his side. Jeremy is having some set backs and that is normal with any type of seizure, however the setbacks he is having now are more extreme than in the past.

He is only able to drink from a straw, struggling to hold cup with two hands, his eating is good but he needs some assistance, I’m thinking that might be due to him constantly closing his eyes when eating, seems his eyes are so heavy he can’t keep them open. He is very off balance when sitting up, and his head control is not good. He is constantly swaying his head from side to side or keeping his head tiled back or to one side. I believe this could be why he is off balance when sitting up. His legs and feet are extremely stiff. When trying to get him out of bed, change him move him from one spot to the next his legs are straight out and feet crossed. Nathan and I are trying out new ways to move/carry him and get him around. He also keeps getting the hiccups- strange like 3-4 times a day. We are not sure if any, all or some of this will be permanent. Only time will tell. With Jeremy doing extra therapy, us changing things around our home”

This family never asks for anything! I feel that they need some support and assistance at this time.

Jeremy will light up a room no matter where he goes! He has been through so much in this life!

Jeremy is constant care from his mom Jess, while his dad Nathan works so from sunrise till late at night almost 7 days a week so that he can provide for them! I want to give them some comfort and a break!
