Veronica's House Burned Down

Hi, I'm Verónica,

After 40 years of living in the US, I moved back to Chile at age 64 because I wanted to be near my family. I sold all my belongings and started over in Chile. I adopted three rescue dogs there. I bought land within walking distance of the beach and built a home. I lived a quiet life, enjoying my plants and walks on the beach with my dogs.

Unfortunately, after living there just a little over a year, my house burnt down in a propane explosion. I am still in shock but grateful to be alive. Thank goodness I was gone, and all my dogs escaped and survived! But now, at 64 years of age, I must start over again with much less. But I am resilient and resourceful. I need monetary help to start over again. Will you please help me get started rebuilding a simple home? Every donation will help me pay for building materials and labor.

My name is Linda, and I started this Go Fund Me page because I just love Vero. She and I worked at Barlata Tapas Bar for a few years. I was going through a mini-mid-life crisis. I quit my career as a teacher and somehow convinced the owners of Barlata to take a chance on a server with little serving experience. I was a terrible waitress, lol. Anyway, Vero was my source of wisdom when I needed it most.

I can't imagine making the hard decision to sell everything to retire in another country, only to watch your savings burn to the ground.

She's tough and will survive but does not like asking for help. She finally agreed to allow me to do this for her.
