It is with heavy hearts that we share that our dear friend, Robert Santos, is currently in comfort care, surrounded by his wife, daughter, and close friends as he approaches the end of his journey.
Robert suffered a massive stroke on April 19th.
He has remained in a comatose state without any signs of progress, and today, with guidance from his medical team, his family made the difficult decision to withdraw life support and transition him to comfort care.
Robert has touched so many lives with his humor, warmth, and kindness. He is a devoted husband to Masami and a loving father to Hana. His presence has always brought laughter and light to those around him.
He was a loving son. He watched over his mother and her dogs, while he worked from Stockton.
I have known Robert since 1991, when I attended Burlingame High School. He was a senior alongside my sister Meg, and I was a junior. We would all gather around the tables with Amels and our other friends during recess. Robert was the goofy, unforgettable one—making funny faces, doing spot-on Donald Duck impressions, and keeping everyone laughing. Over the years, we remained close, especially as he is my brother-in-law Monty’s best friend.
Today, I am reaching out to his old friends, current friends, coworkers, and extended family for support.
As Robert’s loved ones focus on being by his side during this incredibly difficult time, they are also facing the emotional and financial burdens of end-of-life care and upcoming funeral expenses. Our hope is to ease some of that stress so they can focus on what truly matters—being together, honoring his life, and grieving without added worry.
