My dad, Jefferson "Hondo" Davis was a bright light in this world. He was hilarious, outgoing, spontaneous and loving. He always gave whatever he could. He had a way of making you laugh and smile even if you were mad at him. He would give you the shirt off of his back, buy homeless people food, and spend time with you the second you needed it.
My dad fought an incredibly hard battle with mental illness and addiction. A battle that we all hoped he would overcome. Unfortunately yesterday we lost him forever. I know that he is with God, and that he was welcomed in with loving arms. However- his death has left me (his daughter), his two sons, and the rest of his family in pieces. We never expected this to occur, and we never even got a chance to say goodbye.
At this time prayer is the most important gift you could ever give. But unfortunately with death there are also costs attached. Anything would be helpful at this time. My hope is to donate a portion of this campaign to a worthy cause supporting those overcoming addiction in Colorado, or a mental health charity.
Rest in peace dad. We love you and we will miss you.
