Honoring Nikki “Nik” Joly — A Life of Love, Equality, and Light

Hi everyone, my name is Amanda Joly and I am reaching out with the heaviest heart to ask for help for my mother, Nikki Joly

I was at work when I received a visit from Milwaukee Police telling me that my mom was found deceased in his home in Jackson, Michigan Hearing those words felt unreal. No child is ever prepared to be told their parent is gone, especially in such an unexpected and heartbreaking way.

My mom, who many knew as “Nik ” was more than just a mother and grandparent. He was a leader in the LGBTQ community and a safe place for so many people. He made sure everyone felt seen, valued, and loved exactly as they were. He believed in equality with his whole heart and carried love wherever he went. His presence changed lives, and his absence is felt deeply by so many.

Right now, I am asking for help with cremation costs, travel expenses, and the upcoming arrangements needed to put my mother to rest and honor him properly. I want to give him peace and dignity in his final goodbye, but I cannot do this alone.
