Hi! I'm Astra (they/them) and I'm fundraising for my trip to the United Astrology Conference, and for my book, "untitled land back project".

A little bit about me:

I have over a decade of experience as a consulting astrologer, as well as research experience in anti-colonial insurrection and social movement theory. I'm a long time movement organizer, with my first Black land defense campaign being in my teens. In college, I worked on campaigns around college access and affordability and afterwards I did a stint doing strategic work for unions and tenant defense. I've had first hand experience in liberation work for 20 years now.

My intention with going to UAC is connecting with other astrologers of color, and rad folks who are interested in Black liberation and astrology. I'm interested in next steps after a recent upheaval in the community, where an elder doubled down on the use of a racial slur. I want to connect with folks who are interested in changing the tides of power in who gets funded, published, and which knowledge is celebrated.

Round trip flight: $350

Hotel: ~$250 a night/ around $2000 total for the cheapest! down to share a room but can't sleep on the floor for mobility reasons.

Food: $100

Any donations made over my goal will be put towards the research for my book, and getting flyers, and a sample chapter as a printed zine to the conference. If you want to check out my book, there's sample chapters available on substack.

Subscribing to my substack is a more sustainable way to support my work, so budget $10 a month for me and my project of love: my substack
