Help with funeral costs

Hi, my name is Lisa. I was married to Eugene (Andy) more than 20 years ago. He gave me 2 beautiful girls. The end of that marriage was terrible, I'm not going to lie. I never thought he would be a part of my life ever again. 4 or so years ago Eugene sought sobriety and came back into my life on a very limited basis. I had to meet up with him because I am part of the Southern Maine recovery community. I didn't want our first meeting in over 20 years to be in a meeting. We met and had some sort of forgiveness and understanding between us. I have messaged him once in a while over FB. Needless to say, I was speechless yesterday when the police came to my door to tell me, as his next of kin, that he had died. This was not a responsibility I had envisioned in my life. I am now responsible for a person who in life hurt me most deeply, but I had forgiven. No one deserves to be alone in death, no matter what. I am humbly asking for any help in financing his funeral arrangements. I don't expect to have a full funeral service. More of a gathering of friends. The cost of the physical end of life "things" is more than I can handle alone. Thank you for whatever small gift you can contribute.
