Hi. This is Lisa. She is my mom. She just realized her dream of getting her degree in education last month.  She is an amazing, caring, compassionate, crazy fun lady. She has breast cancer. 

She had been experiencing pain in her breast and went in for a mamogram. She was told that everything looked normal.  A few months later as finals and student teaching started  to come to an end she noticed a lump.  She decided to go see a surgen and figure out why she was having pain. They did another mamogram which was clear again, but followed it with an ultra sound just to be sure. The ultra sound was not so positive.  They found a rather large tumor, a type that is not normally found on a mamogram and started coming up with a plan of attack. 

We are still in the middle of figuring out all the details. What we do know is chemo to shrink the tumor, then remove it.  

Her husband, Curt was injured and has been unable to work for almost 2 years.  Luckily she has some insurance. What she does not have is a job to pay for the deductable and extra expences. What we are hoping to do is cover some of the out of pocket expences that can be so draining and stressful durring this time.
